Ossining's Richard Sheridan, 83, Honored Thursday

OSSINING, N.Y. - Longtime Ossining resident Richard Sheridan died Feb. 6. He was 83.

Sheridan was a retired communications specialist and former owner of Sheridan Associates and The Slide Center, a graphic art studio on Main Street in Ossining.

Born in Queens, N.Y., he was raised in Bronx, N.Y. and lived in Ossining for over 50 years. After serving in the Marine Corps during World War II, Sheridan began a career as a technical illustrator and then graphic designer for Shell Oil Company.

He then embarked on a 30-year career as a senior communications specialist at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center at IBM.

Sheridan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sarah M. Sheridan, his daughters Maureen Sheridan of Wassaic, N.Y. and Diane (Mark) Perrin of Fort Meyers, Fla., his son Brian (Patrice) Sheridan and a grandson.

A funeral service will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m., at St. Ann's Church in Ossining. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Putnam Valley. Funeral arrangements were made by Dorsey Funeral Hom e.
