The Ossining-based international not-for-profit community development organization awarded Massey its 2015 Outstanding Vision and Commitment to Action Award for his years of dedication and support of Bridges to Community’s work.

Bridges’ two-part mission is to improve the lives of impoverished communities in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic through volunteer service trips and to simultaneously educate and transform those volunteers to be more aware of the ways they can impact lives for the better. Bridges works in the areas of housing, education, health, and economic development.

Massey's dedication to Bridges’ work is exemplified by his three service trips to Nicaragua with groups from St. John’s Episcopal Church in Larchmont. Massey and his children, PJ, Sarah and Greta, worked alongside community members to help build houses and improve local families’ lives and futures.

Since his first trip to Nicaragua in 2008, not only has Massey been an enthusiastic supporter of Bridge’s work, but his firm, Massey Knakal, also has supported Bridges, by helping it expand into new communities and touching the lives of thousands of children and adults.
