Jean Claude Linteau, 76, Ossining HS Custodian

OSSINING, N.Y. – Jean Claude Linteau of Ossining died April 25. He was 76. 

Linteau was a custodian at Ossining High School from 1962 to 1998. 

He was born Oct. 24, 1935 in Donnecanna, Quebec, and married Ellen Churchill on Feb. 27, 1970. Linteau retired from Ossining High School in 1998 to care for his then ailing wife. She died on Feb. 25, 2001. 

Despite his vision problems, Linteau loved to walk all over the village of Ossining. He could be frequently found purchasing cigars at the Westchester Tobacco Store on Main Street or at the Landmark Diner. Since his wife's death, Linteau regularly took a bus to Croton to tend to her grave. 

He is survived by two sisters and a brother in Canada as well as a nephew, William J. Reynolds. He was predeceased by two stepsons, David Churchill, in 2010, and Robert Churchill, in 2007.
