Whether it's a crush, a growing relationship or a 25-year marriage, a singing Valentine from the Westchester Chordsmen Chorus is sure to delight and surprise.
Howard Sponseller, Chordsmen’s resident Cupid (and Larchmont resident) suggests, "Surprise your fiancé (again) at the restaurant where you proposed or consider a visit to her office. Through the years, we've sung for loved ones in homes, hospitals, stores, nursing homes, and even to entire offices of surprised employees when the boss springs for it, almost anywhere in Westchester, lower Putnam, and Western Fairfield counties.”
A singing Valentine includes two love songs, a long-stemmed rose and a romantic, personalized Valentine's card. Or ask the quartet to deliver a dozen roses for an even bigger surprise. The Westchester Chordsmen are 65 members strong from all over Westcheser, Western Connecticut and Long Island and range in age from 20-82.
The group has been in existence 63 years and is going strong with a musical repertoire that ranges from Broadway show tunes to doo-wop, traditional, gospel and contemporary melodies arranged in four-part a cappella harmony for tenor, lead, baritone and bass singers. You can find them rehearsing at Kol Ami Synagogue in White Plains every Monday night.
They've sung at the White House, Carnegie Hall and around the world. Singers interested in auditioning are encouraged to get more information via the website.
