Ossining Restaurant Basta Gets 'Very Good' In New York Times Review

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Housed in a nondescript commercial building on a quiet street in Ossining, Basta restaurant looks like every neighborhood pizzeria with its red brick facade and plastic sign, according to a review in The New York Times.

But if you give the restaurant a second look, you will find big pots of basil, parsley and other herbs to the sides of the door and even lining the roof in addition to large bubbling pots of marinara, said the New York Times.

Basta’s marinara, made of just tomatoes, salt and basil, is what partly earned the restaurant a "very good" rating from the newspaper. The sauce serves as a wonderful base for several of Basta’s pizzas, said the New York Times.
