Friday, Feb. 15

Maryknoll International Film Festival: 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome and admission is free to the film “Tootsie.”  The film festival provides nine monthly offerings on Friday evenings from September to April. The current series, Life through Death: Going Beyond the Familiar and Discovering God Anew, includes an introduction by a Maryknoll missioner and a brief discussion after the screening. Maryknoll Mission Center, 55 Ryder Road, Ossining.

Saturday, Feb. 16

Snowshoe Trek At Teatown: 1 p.m. Families are invited to bundle up and brave the cold weather for a chance to see some outdoor winter wonders. Take a guided trek in a pair of Teatown’s snowshoes and explore the outdoors along a snow-covered trail in the 834-acre nature preserve. Preregistration is required for the 90-minute program at 914-762-2912. Teatown Lake Reservation, 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining.

Stories And Crafts In Briarcliff: 11 a.m. This event is for children and families (older 2s - 6 year olds with caregivers). The story time includes several stories followed by a short craft. Briarcliff Manor Public Library, 1 Library Road, Briarcliff Manor. Winter Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. In the opening days of 2013, Down to Earth Markets  is excited to begin the first-ever Ossining Winter Farmers Market at the corner of Spring and Main Streets in downtown Ossining. The market will gather many of the vendors the Ossining community has come to love: Amazing Real Live Food Company, Baked by Susan, Bread Alone, Feather Ridge Farm, Gajeski Produce, Hudson River Apiaries, Meredith’s Country Bakery, Migliorelli Farm, The Pastures, Pickle Licious, Pika’s Farm Table, Pura-Vida Fisheries, and Tierra Farm. The winter market will run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through May 18.

Sunday, Jan. 17

Year Of The Snake At Teatown: 11 a.m. Teatown Lake Reservation’s latest event is all about snakes. Registration recommended at 914-762-2912, ext. 110. Teatown Lake Reservation, 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining.
