Friday, Jan. 18

Platform Tennis Court Lessons: 10 a.m. The Paddle Tennis beginner program begins at 10 a.m. with advanced lessons at 11 a.m. All participants must be at least 18. Loaner paddles are available. Nonmarking rubber-soled shoes are required. Briarcliff Manor Platform Tennis Courts behind Atria of Briarcliff Manor.

Mariondale Winter Crafters and Quilters Retreat: 6 p.m. Join a 'cool' group of crafters amid winter's darkness. Fabric dimensions and pattern for the quilter's project will be sent upon registration. Assistance is available for beginners. Event runs from 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20. Fee is $250 to $275. Commuter cost is $175 to $200, come as you are able.

Saturday, Jan. 19

College Application Workshop In Spanish: 3 p.m. Informative Workshop on Aid for College Entrance - FAFSA Application: Information you need to know about financial aid, how to apply and scholarship opportunities for Hispanic students. This workshop will be in Spanish only. Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Ave. First Winter Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Down to Earth Markets begins the first-ever Ossining Winter Farmers Market. The market will gather many of the vendors the Ossining community has come to love: Amazing Real Live Food Company, Baked by Susan, Bread Alone, Feather Ridge Farm, Gajeski Produce, Hudson River Apiaries, Meredith’s Country Bakery, Migliorelli Farm, The Pastures, Pickle Licious, Pika’s Farm Table, Pura-Vida Fisheries and Tierra Farm. The winter market will run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through May 18. At Spring and Main streets.
