OSSINING, N.Y. – Here are The Daily Voice staff's picks for the top events this weekend in Briarcliff Manor and Ossining. For a complete list of activities in and around Briarcliff Manor and Ossining, see our expanded Events calendar .

Saturday, Jan. 5

First Winter Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Down to Earth Markets is launching its first-ever Ossining Winter Farmers Market at the corner of Spring and Main Streets in downtown Ossining. The market will gather many of the vendors the Ossining community has come to love: Amazing Real Live Food Company, Baked by Susan, Bread Alone, Feather Ridge Farm, Gajeski Produce, Hudson River Apiaries, Meredith’s Country Bakery, Migliorelli Farm, The Pastures, Pickle Licious, Pika’s Farm Table, Pura-Vida Fisheries and Tierra Farm. The winter market will run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through May 18.

Westchester Collaborative Theater Winterfest: 7:30 p.m. The theater group presents its Winterfest of 10 Minute Plays at the Ossining Public Library. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 2 p.m. Dec. 8. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Ave.

Exercise Class at All Saints: 8:30 a.m. The Briarcliff Manor church hosts an exercise class on Saturdays. The class is free. All Saints Episcopal Church, 201 Scarborough Road.

Sunday, Jan. 6

Ossining Library Artist Reception: 2 to 4 p.m. The “Sunday Photo Group” exhibit curated by Mark Sadan will be open for an artist’s reception at the Ossining Public Library. Light refreshments will be served and the artist will be on hand to talk about his work. Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Ave.

Briarcliff Historical Society Eggnog and Book Chat: 2 p.m. Patricia Andrews, author of a new book about William Woodward Baldwin, the lawyer for Briarcliff Manor founder Walter W. Lawr, will speak at the Briarcliff Manor Scarborough Historical Society’s 2nd Annual Eggnog Party and Book Chat. Andrews not only penned the book “William Woodward Baldwin 1862-1951: His Era Immensely Simplified,” she’s also Baldwin’s granddaughter. She gathered information for the book from Baldwin’s diaries, writings and photos.
