A second performance in Westchester is set for Sunday, March 20 at 3 p.m. at the White Plains Presbyterian Church, 39 North Broadway, White Plains.

Based on the biblical Book of Job, the work was composed and will be conducted by the company’s General and Artistic Director, Dan Montez and will be one of the featured entries in ArtsWestchester’s ArtSee Festival of 50 new art works in 2016.

Montez selected it as a subject for an oratorio because it is deeper and more important than being simply a narrative about individual suffering; it is about dealing with injustice, especially from those we trust the most, and about wanting the best for our perceived enemies.

His focus is on the story and the beauty of the music rather than on contemporary experimentation, making this and other oratorios he has written very accessible.

Tickets are $27, $20 for seniors and $15 for students and can be purchased at the door, in advance online at www.taconicopera.org, or by calling (855) 886-7372.
