Easton Quilters Decorate Library

Quilted delights await purchase at the Easton Public Library, courtesy of the Fiber Hearts of Easton. The artistic textiles include hand-woven bags, totes, rugs and quilts, and all will be on display until March 30, said library Director Bernadette Baldino.

The quilting group meets to socialize and create, Baldino said, and the members' advanced skills are evident in the high quality of their creations. Oftentimes, the group donates quilts or proceeds from sales to charities. It is currently supporting Project Linus, a nonprofit that provides handmade blankets to less-fortunate children. The organization is nationwide, but the Fiber Hearts of Easton partner with the Stratford location.

Eastonite Polly Edwards leads the group, which also include Samuel Staples teacher Alan Bates and an assortment of other talent who represent various ages and backgrounds, Baldino added.

The group is not a class but a forum for advanced quilters. For more information about the group and the quilt exhibit, contact Edwards at 203-268-1059.
