Dec. 5 and 6 The Friends of the Ossining Public Library will host a holiday book sale. Get gently used books at bargain prices. Paperbacks, cookbooks and holiday books will be available for purchase Friday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. This is a two-day-only book sale will be held in the lower level of the library. Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. The final performer in the young artists series is pianist Daniel Kim. Kim was the second-prize winner in the 2014 New York International Piano Competition. This series is presented in association with The Stecher and Horowitz Foundation.  The free performance will be held in the Budarz Theater. Holiday concert with the Hudson Bells

Sunday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m.

Come and enjoy songs for Christmas and Hanukkah. The Hudson Bells are an all-women’s choral group, singing three- and four-part harmony both a cappella and with piano accompaniment. Their wide-ranging repertoire includes the "American Songbook" standards, jazz classics, Broadway favorites and contemporary pop tunes. They also delight in offering their own original brand of irreverent musical humor. The group is directed by Kinny Landrum. He is a composer, arranger, producer, keyboardist and music director who has worked with Leonard Bernstein and Carly Simon, among others. The free performance will be held in the Budarz Theater. Monday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. This meeting is open to the public. All are welcome to attend. The meeting will be held in the second-floor conference room. Earring workshop with Joan Lloyd

Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. Join beading expert Joan Lloyd for a workshop on learning how to make beautiful beaded earrings. For every pair of earrings made, another pair will be made and donated to a local women’s shelter. These earrings can also make great gifts for the holidays. M&M Theater Production: “A Winter Broadway Cabaret”

Sunday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. This performance, by Vicki and Clif Act II, is a lively and spirited tribute to Broadway and the "American Songbook." Vicki Casella, singer and keyboardist, teams up with her husband, Clif Lewis, singer and electric violinist, to bring songs from such musicals as “Guys and Dolls,” “South Pacific,” “Phantom of the Opera” and “Hairspray.” They also pay homage to classic Hollywood with songs from such great American composers as Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer and Jerome Kern. Thursday, Dec. 18, at 1:30 p.m. This program is for adults ages 60 and older and those caring for the elderly who want to achieve a better understanding of Medicare health plans and prescription drug coverage. Information and counseling is provided about different types of government programs, including federal and state financial assistance programs, and countywide benefits. This program is offered by the Westchester Library System. The program is free and held in the second-floor conference room. Mindfulness class

Fridays, Dec. 5 and 12, at 4:30 p.m. This weekly mindfulness series has two alternating formats. The meditation format relaxes the mind and body, and the In Daily Life format looks at practical ways to reduce stress, improve health, overcome fear and anxiety. The class also covers tips on how to problem solve and use techniques. This class is open to all. It is free and held in the second-floor conference room.
