Ossining Matters' Annual 5K Run Raises Money For Schools

OSSINING, N.Y. -- The 13th annual Ossining Matters Education Foundation 5K Run/2 Mile Walk takes place Saturday, Sept. 12, at 9 a.m.

Runners will start at the Main Street post office, and walkers will begin at the Double Arches. Both will follow the path along the Old Croton Aqueduct trail toward the Crawbuckie Beach Nature Center. Walkers will venture into the complex before heading back, while runners will continue farther north before returning to the Double Arches finish line.

The race will also feature a kids festival and an awards ceremony with medals awarded to all age categories.

Register online by Thursday, Sept. 10, at ossiningmatters.org . Ossining Matters will offer in-person registration and pickup for the pre-race packet at the Ossining Community Center from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Registration for the adult run costs $25 online or $35 in person, while the student run is $15 online and $25 in person. The adult walk is $20 online and $25 in person, and the student walk is $10 online or $15 in person.

Ossining Matters was established in 2003 as a nonprofit foundation to raise funds for the Ossining school district.
