Ossining Free Summer Concert Series Begins In July

OSSINING, N.Y. – The Village and Town of Ossining announced that the free Friday Night Summer Concert Series will begin as part of the area's Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 2.

Plans are for the series to last seven weeks until Friday, Aug. 21.

The July 2 concert features the Mike Risko Band's Top 40 music at 7 p.m. and Road to Ruin, led by Thomas Grieve, will provide classic rock after fireworks at 9:15 p.m. The rain date will be Thursday, July 9.

More classic rock is on the program for Friday, July 10, as tri-state area favorite Powderfinger performs.

The American West stylings of Marc Berger are on tap for Friday, July 17.

Friday, July 24 sees a fusion of rock, Latin and jazz from the Ricardo Gautreau Trio.

Local favorites Teri Lamar and New Company will bring a blend of smooth jazz, rock, Motown and R&B on Friday, July 31.

Ossining's KJ Denhert performs her urban folk and jazz on Friday, Aug. 14.

The series concludes on Aug. 21 with choral group the Old Mill Singers, a Westchester institution for more than 40 years.

All concerts will be 7 p.m. at Louis Engel Waterfront Park, and the rain site for the Friday concerts is the Ossining Public Library’s Budarz Theater.

Picnics, blankets and foldable chairs are welcome. Food will be on sale as well.
