The fireworks are an annual event put on by the town of Ossining, and bring about 10,000 people to the scenic Louis Engel Park which runs along the waterfront. Chris Soi, the new Ossining Recreation superintendent coordinated the event and was aided by the town's first responders.

Families came with picnic dinners and set up early to listen to the live music. The Mike Risko Band performed from 7-9, putting on a show of contemporary pop and rock music. Fittingly, they closed with Katy Perry's "Firework," much to the enjoyment of everyone in attendance. With "America the Beautiful" playing in the background, the fireworks began to fly shortly after dark. After the finale, Road to Ruin took the stage and kept the party going.
