MT. KISCO, N.Y. -- Mt. Kisco did you know that the train to New York City used to only cost 75 cents?
The Harlem R. R. Co. began to expand its railways towards Mt. Kisco in 1845. In late 1846 the first locomotive was seen in Mt. Kisco, which supposedly caused quite a stir in town as people waited at the station to see the unfamiliar machine.
Now the train costs about $26 round trip to the city.
