Mary T. Grogan, 88, Peekskill Resident

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Mary T. Grogan -- a Peekskill resident, formerly of Yonkers, Tuckahoe, Eastchester and Bronxville -- died on Wednesday, March 9. She was 88.

Born in Tuckahoe, Grogan retired from IBM after 20 yrs., then worked 11 years for Annunciation Church, in Crestwood, and St. Joseph's Church, in Somers, NY. She was a member of Ladies of the Holy Sepulcher, Ladies of Charities, Patron of the Arts of the Vatical Museum and Eastchester Historical Society.

For many years after leaving Eastchester area, Grogan belonged to the Church of the Holy Spirit, in Cortland Manor. She was also part of the Grogan Quartet, which appeared on Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour. She was a lifetime avid supporter of the New York Yankees.

She is survived by her siblings, Agnes, Catherine and John Golia, twin brother Frank of Ohio, and Joseph and Veronica Grogan of Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Frank Grogan Sr.; brother Jack Grogan; and brother-in-law Philip Palumbo.

Visiting hours will be from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, March 11, at Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main St., in Eastchester. A mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, at Annunciation Church, 470 Westchester Ave., in Crestwood. Interment will be at Holy Mount Cemetery, 53 Winterhill Rd., in Tuckahoe.
