White Plains Man Charged in Scarsdale Burglary

SCARSDALE, N.Y. — A White Plains man was arrested Saturday night and charged with burglarizing a home in the Greenacres neighborhood of Scarsdale.

Scarsdale police officer Joseph Serio noticed the man leaving a Post Road property and stopped him for questioning at 7:53 p.m. Saturday, according to a Scarsdale Police Department press release; it was discovered the home had been burglarized.

According to the release, someone entered the occupied home through a window and took jewelry from a second-floor bedroom.

Police arrested 23-year-old Jose Vidal?Serrano of 205 W. Post Road in White Plains and charged him with second-degree burglary, possession of burglar’s tools, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.

Serrano was arraigned in Scarsdale Justice Court by Judge John Galloway and?released on his own recognizance, pending a May 2 court appearance.
