GREENWICH, Conn. Douglas Stevens of Greenwich Fine Properties was chosen this week as 2011 Realtor of the Year by the Greenwich Association of Realtors.
He is tireless in his resolve to elevate the status of the real estate profession and representing the rights of homeowners in the Greenwich community, said the associations 2012 president, Barb McKee. His intelligence, enthusiasm, dedication and sense of humor have contributed significantly to the growth of our organization and the impact on our community.
The Realtor of the Year Award is the highest honor presented to a member and is based on leadership and contributions made to the Greenwich Association of Realtors, the Connecticut Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Greenwich community.
Stevens is a fifth-generation Greenwich native. His great-great-grandfather was Henry Held, an early developer of Greenwich Avenue real estate and homeowner in Indian Harbor.
Stevens served as president of the Greenwich Association of Realtors and the Greenwich Multiple Listing Service in 2010 and 2011. Stevens was also cited by the association for his leadership on several committees over the past five years, including risk reduction, grievance, professional standards and scholarship.
Stevens has been a licensed realtor for 36 years. His tenure has included managing the former William Pitt real estate office and the Sothebys International Realty office before leaving to open Greenwich Fine Properties, an independent real estate firm.
Linda Hodge, a former director of the association and 2003s Realtor of the Year, presented the award to Stevens.
