NEW CANAAN, Conn. New Canaans Will Hanley scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds Tuesday as the Bowdoin College mens basketball team routed Plymouth State, 88-66. Hanley, a senior, has seven games with double figures in points and rebounds as Bowdoin has raced to an 8-2 start.
Hanley has been the leader for Bowdoin, including winning the Maine Mens Basketball Coaches and Writers Association Player of the Week award in late December. Hanley entered Tuesdays game ranked 10th all-time in Bowdoin history in scoring and fifth in rebounds. The 6-foot, 7-inch center is averaging 19.8 points and 12.7 rebounds per game.
Greenwichs Justin Nowell, a graduate of Brunswick, is also playing for Bowdoin. Nowell has seen action in seven games and is averaging 3.1 points per game.
