St. Bonaventure Holds Off Sacred Heart Women

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University’s women’s basketball team finished its nonleague schedule Tuesday with a 67-63 loss to St. Bonaventure in Olean, N.Y. The Bonnies improved to 13-2, while Sacred Heart fell to 9-4.

Callan Taylor scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Sacred Heart. It was her eighth double-double and her fifth game with 20 or more points. Enjoli Bland added 11 rebounds, while Gabrielle Washington and Blair Koniszewski added 11 points apiece.

Sacred Heart led 46-45 with 12 minutes left before St. Bonaventure scored eight straight points to take the lead for good. St. Bonaventure also established a school record for regular season nonleague wins.

Sacred Heart returns to Northeast Conference competition Saturday when it hosts Long Island University at 1 p.m.
