Ex-White Plains Tire Inspector, Bucci Dies at 95

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Michael A. Bucci, formerly of White Plains, died Nov. 16 in Holmes, N.Y. He was 95.  He was a  tire inspector for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in White Plains for 45 years.

Born on Feb. 21, 1916 in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Dom and Maria Bucci. After graduating from White Plains High School, Bucci served in the Army during World War II. He was a staff sergeant in the 430th Ordinance in France, England and Belgium. 

Bucci married Helen Gardner on March 22, 1941 at the White Plains Methodist Church. After retiring from the White Plains tire shop, he moved to Brewster, N.Y. in 1982.  There, Bucci was a member of Bethel Men's Club and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 672. An avid sports fan, Bucci enjoyed gardening and yard work.

Bucci is survived by his wife Helen, his son Michael J. Bucci of Livingston, N.Y., his daughter Patricia Ann Boadle of Stamfordville, N.Y., his sister Lena Calabro of Mt. Kisco, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Janet Bucci in 2001.

Friends may call at Beecher Funeral Home in Brewster on Monday, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. A service will follow the wake at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A private cremation will follow at a later date.
