New Rochelle's Barnard Wins $500

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Congratulations to the Barnard Early Child Education Center in New Rochelle for winning one of Main Street Connect's Better Schools Bonanza cash awards, sponsored by Entergy.

Barnard was one of the schools to get 500 votes, quickly earning at least a $500 check donation that will go towards its Parent Teacher Association.

“We’re thrilled,” said Barnard Early Childhood Center Principal Patricia Lambert.

The school plans to use the money for the funding of future projects at the school’s on- site greenhouse, “Amy’s Greenhouse.”

“The Greenhouse is a very successful resource utilized in so many ways to enrich our students experience at Barnard School," said Barnard Parent Teacher Association co-president Liz Smith.

The promotion is far from over. Barnard Early Childhood Education Center, and every other school in Westchester, is still in the running for the $10,000 grand prize, given to the Westchester elementary school with the most votes by midnight Friday.

Vote for your school today in Better Schools Bonanza, presented by Main Street Connect and sponsored by Entergy.
