Father's Day Feasts in North Salem and Somers

Those looking to take Dad out for a special Father’s Day meal have plenty of local restaurants with special cuisines to choose from.

Croton Creek Steakhouse & Wine Bar

4 Cross Street, Croton Falls (914) 276-0437

Is Dad a meat-and-potatoes man? Croton Creek was chosen one of Westchester Magazine’s “Ten Best Restaurants” and the New York Times called it, “a rare achievement” and “a savvy steakhouse.” Seafood, lamb, veal, pork and poultry are also on the menu, but the steak is the highlight. A long and varied list of wines by the glass or by the bottle is also available.

Open for Sunday Brunch: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Open for Sunday Dinner: 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Primavera Restaurant and Bar

592 Route 22 (off Exit 8 of Rt. 684), Croton Falls (914) 277-4580

Here’s an elegant family-run restaurant with an impressive Northern Italian menu. There are homemade soups and pastas and entrees in the best native Italian tradition, all served with a European flair. A beautiful equine mural gives the dining room a warm and tranquil ambience. Buon appetito!

Open Sunday: 1:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Jennifer’s Restaurant

715 Saw Mill River Road (Rt. 118, 1 mile west of Rt. 100) Yorktown Heights (914) 962-4298

If Dad’s taste or background is northern European, Jennifer’s is a good choice. Viennese chef Franz Cervinka has put together a delectable menu of German and continental dishes, complete with mouth-watering desserts. German beers are on tap and the wines are European and American.

Open Sunday: 2 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Somers 202

2 Old Tomahawk Street, Granite Springs (914) 248-8100

Somers 202 is versatile and eclectic. The restaurant offers a variety of cuisines, including some down-home dishes such as mac & cheese, pulled pork sandwiches and Atlantic Cod. There are two dozen different martinis on the bar list plus a variety of beers and wines.
