History Of Islam Among Ossining Public Library Events Scheduled In December

OSSINING, N.Y. – The Ossining Public Library announced its schedule of events for the first half of December. All events are free.

On Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the Budarz Theater,, Christina Orban-LaSalle of Sleepy Hollow Cemetery will introduce a documentary on “Green Burial Plots,” the newest burial technique and very eco-friendly.

On Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. in the Budarz Theater, local resident Ola Nossier will give a presentation entitled “Islam 101,” demystifing the religion from an educational perspective.

Classical pianist Kate Liu will close out the Young Artists Series with a performance on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. in the Budarz Theater.

There will be a book discussion in the conference room on Thursday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m., as the fall season of discussion closes with a look at Kathleen C. Winters' 2006 book on Amelia Earhart.

The library's annual Holiday Book Sale, hosted by the Friends of the Ossining Library, will take place on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the library's Art Gallery.

The Hudson Bells will perform at the library's annual Holiday Concert on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. in the Budarz Theater.
