Serafina Procaccini, 93, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. - Serafina “Sam” Procaccini of Stamford died Thursday, Oct. 31. He was 93.

Procaccini was born June 20, 1920, in Stamford, to Antonio and Maria DeRosa Procaccini. He grew up in Darien during the Great Depression. He served briefly in the U.S. Army after World War II. He later worked at Electrolux in Old Greenwich, where he built a long and successful 40-year career until his retirement in 1988.

Procaccini is survived by his son, Robert J. Procaccini Sr. (Mary Beth) of Norwalk; daughter, Carolyn Mueller (Richard) of Wilton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Sabia, all of Stamford; longtime companion, Florence Bianco of Darien; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Jean; twin brother Frank Procaccini; and sister Angie Seaman.

Calling hours are Monday, Nov. 4, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, with a prayer service to be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford.
