OSSINING, N.Y. -- A free screening of "The Greenhorns," part of the Grow Local Film series offered by Down to Earth Farmers Markets will take place on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the farmers market located at 173 Main St., third floor in Ossining.
The Greenhorns documentary film, completed after almost three years in production, explores the lives of America’s young farming community – its spirit, practices, and needs. It is the filmmaker’s hope that by broadcasting the stories and voices of these young farmers, we can build the case for those considering a career in agriculture – to embolden them, to entice them, and to recruit them into farming.
The production of "The Greenhorns" is part of a grassroots nonprofit’s larger campaign for agricultural reform. There will be a Q and A session following the film with a local farmer.
