The 2014 Mother Mary Walsh Award recipients are Tara Meenan Lansen and Thomas Lansen, M.D., FAANS, FACS; and Ralph Martinelli. The 2014 Joseph A. Cimino Community Service Award recipients are Fran and Jim Dowling. The gala event will feature entertainment by New York Yankees great Bernie Williams and his All Star Band. Mike Bennett of WHUD 100.7 FM will be the evening’s emcee. Dr. Thomas Lansen is a neurosurgeon who has practiced in Westchester County for more than 30 years. He has been acting chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at New York Medical College and director of neurosurgery at four hospitals: Northern Westchester Hospital, Westchester Medical Center, Lawrence Hospital and Sound Shore Medical Center.
Meenan Lansen is president and CEO of Compufit Technology Solutions, a full-service information technology corporation she founded in 1995. She has the distinction of being one of the few women to start and manage a highly successful information technology services company. Ralph Martinelli is vice president of Today Media and Publisher of Westchester Magazine, 914 INC, Hudson Valley, Westchester Home and Westchester Weddings magazines. Under Martinelli’s leadership, Westchester Magazine has become the region's premier lifestyle magazine. Fran Dowling is a retired elementary school teacher who taught for 27 years in the Ossining, Pelham and Katonah-Lewisboro school districts. She is actively involved with the Community Center of Northern Westchester in Katonah, where she served as president, vice president and volunteer.
Jim Dowling, who is also retired, was owner of Dowling’s Fleet Service Co. Inc. He also was owner of two real estate holding companies -- Dowling Enterprises and Dowling Realty Corp. The Dowlings live in Katonah. For more information, contact Marta Decker at (914) 941-1710.
