Volunteers will scoop beans, spices and other ingredients into mason jars, which will be given to Ossining Food Pantry.
The contents of the mason jars can be later mixed with a can of tomatoes and water to create a healthy, homemade pot of soup.
The Soup in a Jar project is a joint program between UJA-Federation of New York's Engage Jewish Service Corps and Congregation Sons of Israel.
Soup in a Jar begins at 11 a.m.
Congregation Sons of Israel is located at 1666 Pleasantville Road in Briarcliff Manor.
