Book Fair Highlights June Events At Ossining Public Library

OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Ossining Public Library is offering many events for adults during the month of June, from a book fair to an art show.

Some of the June events include:

The Ossining Arts Council Annual Show – Main Gallery Opening Reception – will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 4. Light refreshments will be served. 

Ossining Children’s Center's 120th Anniversary Exhibit – Hallway Gallery Opening reception – will be  from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 5. Light refreshments will be served. 

The Sunday Afternoon Concert Series will be at 2 p.m. June 7 with All Seasons Chamber Players. This concert will include genre’s specific to the Spring season. All are welcome to attend this free event in the Budarz Theater. 

The Thursday Evening Book Discussion Group will meet at 7 p.m. June 11 to discuss "Having Our Say: the Delany Sisters First 100 Years" by Sarah and A. Elizabeth Delany. All are welcome to attend the free event in the second-floor conference room. 

The Summer Film Series by Buzzworthy Filsm presents "The Theory of Everything," starring Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne at 6:30 p.m. June 17. The other film dates are July 29 and August 19. All are welcome to attend the free event in the Budarz Theater. 

The Friends of the Library will be having a summer book sale from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 19. Other sale dates are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 20 and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 21. The sale will be outside in tents and in the Budarz Theater.

"Photography - A Window to the World," a slide show on three well-known photographers, will be presented by Zelda Cutler  at 7 p.m. June 24. The free event will be in the Budarz Theater.

Computer classes will be ongoing from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays, June 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 and will be free in the 2nd Floor Conference Room. Call Cheryl for more information at (914) 941-2416.

A Memoir Writing Class will be ongoing on Tuesdays, June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 1:30 p.m. in the second-floor conference room. Registration is required for this free event and can be done by calling (914) 941-2416.
