Body In Attic Book Discussion Leads April Programs At Ossining Library

OSSINING, N.Y. -- A body in an attic will be pondered in a book discussion leading an array of events in April at the Ossining Library.

The April 1 discussion at noon is on "The Bethlehem Road Murder"  by Batya Gur. Participants may bring a bagged lunch to the noon event being held in the 2nd floor conference room. Free copies of the book are available at the Information Desk.

Two art exhibits are coming up in April:

  • Main Gallery: “Eclectic Quartet” April 1 – 29, with an opening reception, Sunday April 3, 2 to 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
  • Hallway Gallery: “Children’s Book Cover Exhibit” by local teacher and artist Cedric Lukas. No reception.

The following are offered:

  • A lecture on the Holocaust with topics including Kristallnacht, What were the different concentration camps? Revenge, Coming to America, The Nuremberg Trials, What is it like to be a child of Holocaust Survivors? is set for Wednesday, April 6, 7 p.m. in the Budarz Theater.
  • Thursday Evening Book Discussion Group: “The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and their epic quest for gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics": Thursday, April 7. Free copies of the book are available at the Information Desk. All are welcome to attend.
  • Brazilian Concert led by Richard Boukas , guitarist, composer, vocalist, educator, Sunday, April 10, 2 p.m. Richard and his band “Quarteto Moderno” will perform in the Budarz Theater.
  • Silver Tips Tea Lecture & Tasting Presentation with Anupa Mueller from “Silver Tips Tea Room” in Tarrytown will lecture and give samples on tea, Sunday, April 17, 2 p.m., Budarz Theater.
