Williams, who during his time playing center field for the Yankees won four World Series Championships, the 1996 ALCS MVP Award and the 1998 American League batting title, will perform with the Gil Parris Quartet. This year marks the 10th annual Ossining MATTERS concert. The mission of Ossining MATTERS is to provide enriching opportunities in cultural arts, athletics and academics for district students.

“The spring gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” Ossining MATTERS President Elisabeth Gilbert said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to hosting Bernie’s supporters, fans of the Yankees, and jazz enthusiasts, along with our loyal community supporters. Bernie Williams’ successful career in both baseball and music, and his generous support for philanthropic causes, sets a wonderful example for our students.”

The fundraiser will include an online auction with more than 100 items that have been donated by people and businesses. The auction will include sports tickets, spa treatments, treasured experiences with teachers, limited edition artwork, gift certificates to local restaurants, Broadway tickets and other items.

Last year’s gala raised more than $66,000 for the education foundation. Since its founding in 2003, Ossining MATTERS has funded more than 140 grants and donated more than $550,000 to the Ossining School District for projects reaching students from preschool through high school, supporting enriching programs in academics, cultural arts and athletics.

The concert will take place Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in the Ossining High School auditorium. For more information, visit the Ossining MATTERS website.
