OSSINING, N.Y. -- An Ossining-based promotional products distributor is undergoing a major expansion.

JP Promotional Products recently announced that Chairman Robert Rosenthal, a Hartsdale resident, will be returning to the company fulltime to enhance its growth.

Rosenthal said he intends on managing acquisition opportunities, expanding the sales force and enhancing the website.

A veteran of the promotional products industry with more that 35 years of experience, Rosenthal was the former president and principal owner of Union Pen Company. The company also plans to add a showroom to its Ossining headquarters this year.

The company makes custom products that allow other businesses to promote themselves. They have been in Ossining for eight years.

"We've done very well the past few years," Rosenthal said. "We've grown very nicely, I feel we could grow a lot more. I've been in this business a long time said. I know what it takes to make it work."

The company specializes in working with the health care industry. Rosenthal has deep roots in the area. He started JP Promotional Products in Hawthorne, and works with his daughter, who until moving to Hartsdale, lived in Croton. He also previously ran a business in Greenwich.

"The first apartment I had on my own was in Ossining," Rosenthal said.

The promotional products industry is very service oriented, and Rosenthal strives to give his clients the best.

"We have to stay on top of our orders," Rosenthal said. "If we screw up, there's another 21,000 companies they can go to. We build our business on the service end. We like to cater to local businesses where we can. We think the future is really bright."
