Macy's Announces New York Store Closures

Macy's announced it plans to close 68 stores and eliminate 10,000 jobs.

The store closures are part of the approximately 100 closings announced in August 2016, Macy's said in a press release.

Final clearance sales will be held at many of the stores that will be closing in early 2017 and will begin on Monday, Jan. 9, and run for approximately eight to 12 weeks, Macy's said.

Macy's stores in the Hudson Valley will stay open. They are located in White Plains, Yonkers, Yorktown, West Nyack, Nanuet, Poughkeepsie and Middletown. 

Three stores in New York will be closing. They are in Binghamton, Rochester and Syracuse.
